Sweetheart Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookies Recipe

I love this time of the winter because valentines day = cute baked goods!  How can one say no to a delicious treat with pretty decorations?? I have the perfect cookie for your sweet heart! <3 Check out our Sweetheart Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookies Recipe below. Totally yummy! 

A classic sugar cookie, yet the larger size makes it feel even more special plus the festive m&ms. You’ve got the perfect cookie for your sweetie, or even to bring to class, have some displayed at home and even girls night!

Sweetheart Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter at room temp
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Large bag of festive valentines day M&Ms { you will be rolling the cookies in this }

Directions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
  • Mix together the butter, white & brown sugar
  • Add eggs and vanilla, mix until combined
  • Slowly add in the flour { one cup at a time } you may need to fold in with a spatula
  • Followed by salt, baking soda and then baking powder, mix until all is combined
  • Before you add your m&ms, let the dough firm up for about 2 hours at least, or over night.
  • Once your dough is ready, roll into a ball, aim for golf ball size, this will help your cookies to be alot bigger
  • Gently roll your cookies into the m&m mixture & once placed on cookie sheet add a few more to their tops!
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes, until slightly golden onthe bottom.
  • Remove from oven and let rest on the baking sheet

Tip: Letting dough sit in fridge does make a difference!
*You don’t need to roll the cookies in m&ms but I like how the m&ms look once the cookie is done baking
